The Western Australian Government has awarded $4 million in funding to AROSE as part of a $6.5 million package to support and strengthen the State’s space capability.
The funds, as announced in the recent 2026-27 State Budget, will be distributed over the next four years and will support AROSE’s work to be a catalyst for new industrial capability in Australia, to drive cross-sector adoption of space and remote-operations technologies, and to develop the workforce and inspire the next generation of talent.
$2.5 million has also been awarded to AROSE member organisation, Curtin University, to support their Binar Space Program which develops and operates state-of-the-art small satellites.
“Western Australia has the geography, expertise and ambition to be a key player in the space sector, and we’re making sure the right settings are in place to support long-term growth.
Continuing to co-invest in both AROSE and the Binar Space Program is a clear display of our government’s commitment to enhancing our local space industry capability.”
Stephen Dawson, Minister for Science and Innovation
We thank the WA Government for its ongoing commitment to the space sector, supporting AROSE in its vision for Australia to be the trusted leader of remote operations on Earth and in space.
