Monash University

In March 2023, Monash University launched The National Indigenous Space Academy (NISA), supported by the Australian Space Agency (ASA), paving the way for First Nations STEM students across Australia to intern at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in the US. In its first year, five students have already completed their JPL internship and Monash are now calling for the second round.

Through the new collaboration between AROSE and Monash, the University will sponsor a limited number of places for their students to experience a local opportunity, the Milo Mission Academy for Lunar Exploration, an internationally recognised Space training program run by the Milo Space Science Institute in partnership with AROSE as part of our STEM program.  The Academy, being run for the first time in 2024 in Australia and NZ, is designed for students from TAFE and universities as well as early career professionals and provides participants with a hands-on understanding of the dynamic Space mission life cycle.
