A first-of-its-kind report into Australia’s Remote Operations Capability (AROC) provides a comprehensive review of the current capability, needs and challenges of Remote Operations in Australia and the use of state-of-the-art technology across industry sectors. It highlights the next steps and makes recommendations for Australia to take advantage of its position and leverage future opportunities.
This review also demonstrates the benefits Remote Operations brings to organisations and industry alike, while recognising the potential for Australia’s future.
The findings are based on more than 45 interviews covering 200 people conducted by AROSE during a 12-month period. It also includes an extensive literature review. Interviewees came from organisations, research institutes and subject matter experts from across eight industry sectors, including Agriculture, Defence, Energy, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Mining, Space and Research.
The findings from this review can be used across multiple sectors, research bodies and government to support decision making, including laying the foundation for Research and Development roadmaps, cross sector collaboration, and support for planning and business case development to introduce or expand Remote Operations capabilities.
